Why Should You Use Blogging In A Classroom?
There are several educational advantages of blogging. First, it helps to build a sense of community for you and your students. Second, it allows all students to be in engaged in the learning process. Including some who may not usually participate. Third, the students and the teacher must communicate in writing and read the postings of others. That is always a good tool for any level or age of learner. Fourth, it promotes creativity and the use of technology. Finally, it connects students to information and knowledge they may not normally be exposed to by just learning from a textbook or the teacher. It becomes a "global experience."

I've been trying to see how I could use blogs in my classes. One application would be to have the students do a little independent research on a topic after it was covered in class, and then post on the class blog about what they learned. Students can comment on the posts, or we can use this as a springboard to in class discussion. Thanks for helping me think about how to use blogs.
